This used to be my line when I heard her banging the door while I was in the middle of a bath, or saw her gesturing frantically with me on a call, or when she asked me to ‘watch’ her dancing/jumping/talking- basically whenever she demanded my attention that I couldn’t give immediately.
Sunday afternoon had Ananya pondering over some serious things…

Anan( with a purposeful knit of her brow): There is only one way to solve this.
Me( Impressed and curious): Â Really? Tell me how?
Anan: Make Appa the President of the world!!!!
Oh! Daughters and their Supermen Daddies!!! It’s always ” My Daddy Strongest” for them.
Apparently, one accidental mention of a ghost by a cousin and following it up with “Chota Chetan” while on vacation at their grandparents’ started it all. She particularly fears that “skeleton”.
Another classic Ameya moment
Me: What is the opposite of ‘Over’?
Ameya: Not over.
Me: No..Under.
Me: Beautiful?
Ameya: Not beautiful?
Me: !!!
Little V was 3. He had just begun to talk complete words and incomplete sentences.
Remember the most common threat from our parents? God will cut off your nose!
Many a time, we underestimate the power of those little minds!
After much delay, last evening I finally sat down to repair Ameya’s cycle. She has been requesting me to buy a stand for her little bicycle. Has been quite persistent in asking me to get it for her.
Poor Alfred Nobel wont feel too well after this…The joys of teaching kids!
